St. Simon's Island, GA

We had a wonderful Green Reunion on St. Simon's Island. Everyone stayed together at the Ocean Inn and Suites. The kids spent every spare moment in this hotel pool.
We took Great Grandpa Green to Fort Frederica. He worked many years at this national park giving lectures about the history on the island.

Eric's legs are still tired!

Our evenings were spent down at the village. This picture was taken out on the pier.

We went to MooCow for our last ICEC meeting (ice cream eaters club). They had lots of fun flavors like chocolate covered potato chip and roasted sweet potato ice cream!

Fun In The Sun

Catherine's first time to see the ocean. She loved it and had no fear!
Sarah riding the waves.

The kids had fun playing with all their cousins. Above picture of Cousin Sheri helping them build a sand castle. They asked me today if we could go to her house and play. We wish all our family lived closer!

They tried to keep the tide from coming in and messing up this masterpiece but it didn't work. At least we have this picture of all their hard work.

Too Much Beach!

Green Family Vacation

We started our vacation by taking the kids on their first plane ride. Elizabeth actually flew when she was 9 months old but she doesn't remember her first flight. We traveled with Great Grandpa Green and Eric's parents.
The kids could not wait to get on the airplane. William was ready to blast off!

Catherine was very busy on the plane but after we took off she fell asleep. I'm sure everyone sitting beside us was very thankful for that!

We had a beautiful memorial and committal service for Great Grandma Green at Oglethorpe Memorial Park on St. Simon's Island, GA. The kids were excited to see all their cousins from Pennsylvania and California.

Afterward, we had a nice luncheon at the church.

Komen Race 2011

We did the Komen Race this year as a family in memory of Cousin Deb.
The kids did a great job and even ran some of the 5k.

Well, Catherine didn't have to do a whole lot! She enjoyed the ride.

The kids were super excited to get these balloons at the end.

We somehow managed to get them in the car!

Catherine will have to wait a while longer but she is ready for the beach too.

Decades

Elizabeth has been learning about each decade. The 5th graders got to dress up for each decade and do fun activities related to the years they were studying. Here are a few pictures. Above picture is the 1920's.
1950's

1970's. My mom still has her pantsuits! Hahahahahahaha!!!

Today is my favorite...1980's!! I still have my Van Halen shirt from Steve. Love the big hair! She slept in sponge rollers last night. lol. They had some great music playing when I took them to school this morning. I may have to get out my Totally 80's cds this afternoon. :-)

Memorial Day

We put flowers at the Veterans Memorial yesterday in honor of Great Papa Davis. Thank you Great Papa. We miss you.

Kindergarten Celebration

This morning we celebrated William's graduation to 1st Grade! Eric took off work and met me at school. William is front row in purple. I drew an arrow. They did a great job but it was a little emotional. You would think I could be a little tougher with it being the 3rd one!

Camp Cougar

Sarah has had a fun week at Camp Cougar! The 3rd graders go to camp at school. They usually put tents outside but it is too muddy from all the rain. They still had a great time. Above picture of Sarah and her group. They traveled together to lots of fun stations.
Above is Sarah and her group on stage performing their skit. All the kids did a great job and had everyone laughing!

Sarah's favorite station was tie dying. I enjoyed being a station leader for the camp and had a great time with all the kids. Although, after working the obstacle course I've realized how old I am. I don't run, hula hoop and jump rope quite as fast as I used to!

Dramapalooza

Four grades (including William and Sarah) from our school took a field trip today to the high school to see the play Dramapalooza. William was excited to have mommy go and ride on the bus with him!
Sarah is getting to the age that it is okay for mommy to go but would rather hang with her friends. :-( Above picture of Sarah and her BFF.
