Confirmation Retreat

Elizabeth and I left after school on Friday for a little road trip to Sky Ranch in Van, TX for her Confirmation Retreat with our church. There were 54 6th graders and their parents. We stayed in cabins where we didn't get much sleep! It was so nice to get away and the weather was perfect.
We made new friends thru planned activities and worship. Above picture of Elizabeth helping to get her team across the river without the sharks getting their handkerchiefs.

Saturday afternoon we enjoyed lots of outdoor activities. Above picture of Elizabeth ready for the zip line. Elizabeth really wanted me to do this with her so I put on my big girl pants and closed my eyes! This is the only picture I got because my hands were glued to the rope and I was shaking when we finished.

Elizabeth's favorite activity at Sky Ranch was this ropes course. She was not able to convince me to do this one! I did enjoy playing miniature golf and watching her on the Superslide and canoeing.

Our youth band also joined us on the retreat and did a great job putting big smiles on their faces. I am so glad to have gotten the opportunity to share this special time with Elizabeth. She is a great kid and will do wonderful things for the Lord.

1st Grade Field Trip

Today the 1st graders went on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! Above picture of William's 1st Grade class.
There were lots of animals on this beautiful farm. The kids had so much fun feeding them.

They also enjoyed the hayride! William has been sick this week and still looks a little pale. I received a call from our school nurse earlier in the week telling me that he threw up in class. Fortunately, no one else has gotten it. Knock on wood!

Catherine got to go along on the field trip too. She loved climbing on the hay maze.

I could not keep up with her. She had zero interest in sitting still for a picture! This is the pumpkin that she chose. She has been carrying it everywhere today!

Paw Pride

Every 9 week grading period our elementary school has a "pep rally." Today was the first one for this school year. Sarah and William were both awarded the "Paw Pride" award for their classes. They got up in front of the entire school to receive the above bracelet. Way to go, Sarah and William! We are super proud of you both!

Fall Concerts

Elizabeth performed Friday night with her 6th Grade Choir at school. It was beautiful. She is back row 2nd from the left.
Sarah performed this morning for the 8am and 9am church services. She did a great job playing the chimes while the choir sang. It was beautiful too!

Field Day

Today was Field Day at our elementary school. William has been counting down the days all week. He said it was like having recess all day!
William was determined to win every game. I wonder where he gets him competitiveness. lol

Sarah loved the basketball game.

Sarah's partner flipped upside down. They thought this was the funniest thing ever. It was a very memorable day and they should sleep well tonight.

Texas Rangers

Papa Green had a big Texas Rangers Baseball party tonight. He only invited Elizabeth, Sarah, William, Catherine and Great Papa Green. Since Eric and I were not invited we decided to go on a hot date but later crashed the big party!
Nana Green was in charge of getting everyone ready by painting their faces.

Catherine was excited about all the food. She loves pizza!

Everyone was excited about the yummy baseball cake!

Papa had games and tons of prizes. William got lots of baseball cards. It was a happy ending to a fun night. Way to go Rangers!!!
