Robbers Cave State Park

We went to Robbers Cave State Park in Oklahoma this past week. My parents took me here every year as a kid. It is a beautiful place!
We were so excited that Nana and Papa were able to join us.
The kids had so much fun hiking, fishing and riding canoe/paddle boats. They also went to a couple of kid classes at the Nature Center.
They liked hanging by the lake feeding fish, playing at the park and eating snow cones! We also enjoyed a hayride on our last evening together.
Above picture is outside our cabin making s'mores. Robbers Cave does not have wireless internet!! It was nice but kinda weird not being "connected."

The Morning After

Sarah had "the best slumber party ever." Eric checked on them at 3am and they were all still awake! I needed a blow horn this morning. They all looked at me like I had four heads when I told them it was time to wake up!

Happy Birthday!

We celebrated Sarah's 9th Birthday last night! She did not want a cake. Instead she wanted Great Nana's chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. So I made her a cookie cake using the recipe. It was so yummy!
We let the kids choose what they want for dinner on their birthdays. Sarah chose Steak-n-Shake. We did not know you get a free shake on your birthday. Any shake any size! Sarah was so happy to not have to get a kid size shake. Dr. Pepper on top of that. We are terrible parents.
Catherine wanting to help Sarah with all her presents. Sarah is having a slumber party on Saturday night. Catherine will love a house full of 9 year olds. Eric and William not so much. I think they are trying to plan an escape.

ICE ICE Baby!

This is our 3rd ice day home from school! I don't remember ever having 3 bad weather days in a row. Eric is on contract till the middle of summer anyway so he is enjoying this extra free time. The kids have been busy making homemade Valentines. Above William showing off a few of his. It has been a great project for him to work on his writing.
Sarah has been my little helper. She loves rocking Catherine to sleep for her naps. We have also done lots of baking, cleaning, rock band, movies, games and puzzles.

Elizabeth started the week with strep. She is feeling better now and fortunately nobody else has gotten it!

Catherine's Lunch

Why is Catherine not in the picture? 1. I had to pick her up and get all the cat food out of her mouth. 2. She was completely drenched from head to toe. 3. She was screaming because I took her away from all this fun!

Happy 24th Birthday

We celebrated my 24th birthday last night at Olive Garden.
William loves olives so he was super excited!
They got me two birthday cakes! Long story short Eric got one chocolate and one white so he had it covered. ;-) Notice the 2 and 4 on the white cake. So sweet. I'm looking forward to a spa pedicure and manicure with Sarah!
